What are your favourite winter shoes?
I'm trying to find some to buy, and it's no easy task! So it made me wonder what you wear to keep your feet warm when the weather is wet and cold...
I tend to go for the more practical, everday look of the 30s and 40s so I mainly wear leather oxfords with wool stockings (Sock Dreams O-woolies mainly). I also have some (modern) leather work boots that look like standard farm boots or WLA boots. I'd like to get some wellies for the truly terrible weather.
Well for me since I have no choice but to walk in the snow and ice I bought me a pair of Columbia's Bugaboots, these are absolutely the best boots I own for winter. Once I fell really bad on some ice and nearly broke my neck so I searched all over the internet for boots that are good for walking on ice. The Bugaboots were highly recommended so I looked at a lot of reviews on amazon and they did say these boots will hurt your feet when you first ware them. Even though I knew this was going to happen I did not care. All I wanted was boots that were going to keep me safer while walking through ice and the Bugaboots do just that, but these boots are not good on black ice so if you decide to get these boots beware of black ice when walking in these boots. Once I broke in my boots they fit like a dream. Even though I might not have vintage styled shoes/boots on in winter I could care less as long as I can walk around in winter warm and safe.
