An accompaniment thread to the "Show us your vintage half-belts" thread. Different manufacturers used different names for this style, but let's describe it as waist length, non-motorcycle jackets without the belted back which is the defining feature of the jackets in the other thread.

1950s "New Mode"

1940s "Hudson's Bay Company"

Oh my Gosh!!!! I just happened to look at this thread and the first thing I see are the photos of the New Mode dark seal jacket that I recently purchased on eBay - the exact jacket!!!!!!!

Its pretty cool and has a built in leather vest.

How are you liking it?
It was definitely an interesting one. So many unusual details.

Its nice and responded really well to a dose of Pecards - brought it back to life. Will take a few pics. Can you tell me anything about the jacket, the maker, etc???

All I knew I had in the listing, unfortunately I've never seen that label before. I've seen that knit collar-within the leather idea on Foster Sportswear made jackets, but it's handled differently enough to make me think it's not by them. It's such a hodgepodge of interesting details- the zip cuffs (but originally would have had knit storm cuffs in addition), the integral vest, that lining.

Hey there, I follow your awesome ebay page, and I just wanted you to know the jacket above is actually of Swedish design, from the company Albacken. I have a Swedish style MC jacket from the 60s from the same company, which is pretty unique in of itself. It seems as though this company must have gotten a boatload of deadstock Zipp brand zips, which explains the regional confusion.

I'm looking to sell my MC jacket, any interest? ;)

Only 30 years and a continent different than a Wilson's jacket, but I guess manufacturers get inspiration from earlier pieces.

That's right. But if I saw a new version of that pattern hanging up, I'd overlook as a more recent style - right up to that chest seam.

1940s (an outside possibility) or 50s (more likely) British United Services Supply Co. I still know not much about this company. Incorporated in 1955 and likely existed before that, dissolved around 1984. Any other info from anyone - does anyone remember the company?? - is very gratefully accepted.

I don't know anything about the company but in the film 'Night of the Demon' they drive to a railway station and in the background you see a shop with an illuminated display that reads 'United Service Supply Company'. The scene is supposed to be at Clapham Junction but might actually have been filmed in Watford. So, all I can tell you is that they appeared to have had shops rather than just being a manufacturer.
