Hi 1mach1, the Kestrel was one of the prettiest cars made by Riley and its design captures (on four wheels), a lot of the things we love about the golden era.

The Dude ... I had not see than before ... very cool! I was 10 when then came out, so may not have paid much attention (though I was seriously considering a new Dodge truck in 1978). Nothing say "tough" like Don Knotts in a checkered shirt.

This is the first car I ever bought (at age 12). 1973 Mustang Grande Coupe. It has been sitting for 25 years, thanks to my sister blowing the engine. Started back to work on the old girl. She resides at my parents house in Richmond. I forgot how much smog crap was added after 71. :doh:

Got the better half a new car, yesterday. 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. We were Escalade shopping, but the insurance was too high for her. Very nice, very well-optioned machine.

On a related note, anybody in the market for a nice Bonneville? lol

Automatic opening doors, rear hatch, fancy lighting, televisions, power everything back up camera, touch screen radio, seats 7. I think it's got everything but a sunroof/moonroof.

I've had Chevrolets, Fords, Dodges, Buicks, Plymouths, Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs, Mercurys, Cadillacs, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. They're all good to me, so long as they're not imports lol

I'm very "American-proud" Every TV, radio, lamp, clock, and stick of furniture (sans a few Japanese beer steins) were made in the good old USA. You know how far back you have to go to have an American made TV set? lol

I was just thinking, even though both my stove and microwave are good old American names, what do you bet, that at least the clocks were made over seas? Same with my two modern TVs and my Sears lawn furniture. As for my indoor furniture, that's mostly American, just because it is mostly 40 years or older!

I did forget I have one 1920's Dutch clock, and the Howard Millers probably have German movements. I do believe the rest is made here, though.

That's why most of my stuff is American made, too. It was all made 40 or more years ago, when American made was equal to made with pride and quality.

A few years ago, a couple decided to only buy American, or European when not available. The one thing they could not find was, the metal pegs for the peg board tool rack. I never would have thought that.
