If you like fabrics like linen, or any other sort of fabric that crumples easily, a small mix of polyester adds strength. I found that out when I had a made to measure linen suit. How I wish I had listened to my tailor, when he said that linen doesn't retain it's shape for long. He was right, the trousers look like I have slept in them after an hour's wear. You live and learn.I actually have a very well made pair of brown Hollywood waisted trousers from Lindy Lou's, which are similar in fit to the SJC chino pictured, but I always felt that although high quality the polyester they are made of doesn't quite look authentic
But I do agree with you in that 100% polyester just looks naff. It has a very shiny appearance and looks like it's been washed in a washing machine, which of course you can do, then simply ironed without steam ironing. Thanks for the update on SJC.
