I actually have a very well made pair of brown Hollywood waisted trousers from Lindy Lou's, which are similar in fit to the SJC chino pictured, but I always felt that although high quality the polyester they are made of doesn't quite look authentic
If you like fabrics like linen, or any other sort of fabric that crumples easily, a small mix of polyester adds strength. I found that out when I had a made to measure linen suit. How I wish I had listened to my tailor, when he said that linen doesn't retain it's shape for long. He was right, the trousers look like I have slept in them after an hour's wear. You live and learn.

But I do agree with you in that 100% polyester just looks naff. It has a very shiny appearance and looks like it's been washed in a washing machine, which of course you can do, then simply ironed without steam ironing. Thanks for the update on SJC.

The first pair of "baggies" that my missus made came as a complete surprise. She must have clandestinely gone into my wardrobe to get my measurements. She presented me with a maroon pair, I was ecstatic, all the time that I had been searching and here was exactly what I had been looking for. You can't get a full view of the high rise waist nor the width of the hems in the first photo, but it's very clear in the subsequent three pictures. The second photo is a mystery, in that I cannot be sure, from the poor quality of a phone camera, if they are the brown or the grey trousers. I'm guessing brown.

This blazer goes well with either cream trousers or white ones, but my lady had other ideas.
Now I can choose, along with the trousers, I have a similar coloured hat and green and grey spectator shoes.

These I have probably shown in other threads, they are the royal blue baggies that have gained a compliment or two. I have even been asked where I bought them. Tina has made them high waisted, I must remember that, otherwise they look crumpled as in the fourth photograph.

These khaki trousers that Tina made for me gets many a request from others to make them something similar, but the cost of the fabric, and Tina's time, makes the price prohibitive, that's why she always declines. Lucky for me her time is free.
She came up with the idea when I mentioned the Alexander Henry fabric that I came across. It's a spoof camouflage, look close and you will see, instead of random blobs, silhouettes of pin-up girls.

If ever a pair of trousers and shirt were made for each other it would be these two.

Yet such are these lovely khakis they will go with the right coloured Aloha shirt:
