Cool one, albeit quite conservative. Is it a brocade example?
I can't say for certain, Mondo. Had the tie been left untipped, maybe it'd be easier to get an answer to that question.

Speaking of bow ties, I bought a couple of new ones and they came in last Thursday. Here's one of them!

Handmade by Tailored Tie
Reversible Cotton/Linen Batwing Self Tie Bow Tie
Side 1: 100% Vintage Cotton with an orange, yellow, brown, white, and tan pattern.
Side 2: 100% Linen in brown.
100% Wool Interlining that's specifically made for bow ties.
1-3/4" at widest point
Adjustable

I bought this tie, along with two other bow ties from Tailored Tie through Etsy. I think their ties are a nice alternative to vintage, especially since vintage self tie bows are becoming scarce.

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!

While we're here, let me show you a knit tie that's perfect for this time of year. Bought it in November of last year.

According to my research, between the 1960's and 1980's, Rooster produced many of their knit ties under several trademarks:

Alpacanit (Mid 1960's - Early 1970's)
Heathernit (1960's - Early 1970's)
Rufflernit (Mid 1970's - Early 1980's)
Roosternit (Mid 1970's - 1990's)
Cottonit (Late 1970's - 1980's)

I believe this one has a rare label and pattern, because this is the only "Cablenit" example I've ever seen. I've also seen seen a "Donegalnit by Rooster" on eBay once last year.

1960's
"Cabelnit" by Rooster
All Virgin Wool
Red with a subtle zig zag pattern.
50" X 2"

Wow I have not been on much lately and even longer since I have really looked to see what you fellows have been posting here. Amazing ties one and all.

I am actually seeking a mens tie, but for my Brother who is just getting into wearing some vitage clothing. He likes the style of late 1950's the most. As he has a light cream colored double breasted jacket, wearing a violet blue dress shirt under it, I am wanting to find him a off white or ivory colored thin necktie. It would be fine if the tie has some design or strip as how they do but solid would work as well. No budget restrictions for what I would pay for one...but...keep it below Cadillac price tags please...lol!

@LuvMyMan:
I do have a late 50s/early 60s skinny tie with cream light brown and light green (if I remember correctly) diagonal stripes. (no picture at the moment)
It wouldn't be expensive either, but it would add the high shipping costs from Germany - so I don't know if that will help you?

Found the mother load at goodwill, 15 old ties from the40s-50s era. Most are untagged bit a few pilgrim, and town craft ones in here. My personal favorite is the purple one pictured last!

Thank you so very kind. I was able to obtain exactly what I was looking for with the help of "the necktie guy".
