Great looking ties JP, Tommy, & CCJ.
Congrats on the new finds Joe, and yes I'm with you on the colors, I find a lot of those shades too.
Thanks Annixter.

Nice examples out there guys. Keep ferretting out the good stuff.
And the tie of the day is:

Interesting. It looks knot planned, but a short tie at that.

What really sells the tie for me is when someone lays it on dirty bricks with some mud in the grout line nearby.:eusa_doh: Let me guess, the description reads somethings like "Comes from a clean home. Ready to wear.":p

Today's tie in the field: 4" Arrow brocade. I must say, the brocades are great on a sunny day.

it's subtle but wild with sunlight on it, can't quite capture the true effect here.

Nice clean looking tie. If I wore that as a knot planned tie, it would be a shortie like the tie Bob Hoskins wears in Roger Rabbit.

Found a couple interesting ties today.

Cool diagonal pleating on this one:

What do you suppose the ages are on these? The fish tie is 54" and the rooster tie is 53".

The marlin tie looks early 50s to me, the rooster one older. Both are great finds, especially the fish one.

I made myself this tie. I based it off of bold look ties from the late 1940's. I used old sheets for the fabric, and I used iron-on nylon adhesive to hold it together. It's a bit out of proportion, and I drew on the wrong side of the fabric.
