Three nice ties I managed to pick up in charity shops this week all at £1 each. Never come across a single American made tie in West Yorkshire's second hand shops before so I was very pleased with the Beau Brumell tie. I'm also intrigued by the blue one. The construction seems 40's and I'm almost certain it's rayon but the print seems almost 'modern' and nothing like the standard stripes or tartan that tend to be the only 30's/40's patterns that crop up here.

Nice finds! I like the red and grey one. The blue one definitely looks to be vintage. Cool pattern.
Thanks dh, yeah the palm beach cloth one is very nice and dates around late 1940's going by some great shared knowledge on this forum :)

Yeah Like I say I very rarely see such 'patterned' ties for sale round here!

I was temporarily released from my "ban" from the thrifts and found some 85-centers at the usual spot.

Unknown "Shunga-Boo", polyester, 50" x 4". There is a small, hidden snap on the back to reveal the love-making scenes. I edited one slightly.

Wow!! Hit the jackpot Bob!! Those are all worthy contenders, but that Hollyvogue is totally top shelf! And that 'Shunga-Boo' is in a class by itself. Undercover exotica on the extreme. Man! Congrats on a great day at the thrifty!

Great haul Bob! I love that very last one very much, like yourself. Right up my street. And that Shunga Boo is a real interesting find. Am I right in thinking they fetch a pretty penny? Great for the collection though. Although I guess with the Internet these days those sorts of things are a bit obsolete... ;)
