For other reasons I was comparing "rollers"/calendered (green) with yarn tension method (red) moire fabric and my best illustration was a very low end calendered early 30s tie (standard "Hand Tailored, Resilient Construction" label), and a very high end Amos Sulka early-middle 30s tie made using the tension method.
I love the tipped ties. Stetson also made tipped ties in the same period.
And I have a couple of Haband's that are tipped. That little accent can really brighten up even an ordinary necktie.
I'll take the Sulka.
