Ha! I actually read about it on another thread, and had to google who was even playing. Here in the land of crimson tide football, stuff like that barely merits a brief mention on the evening news.
That is a helluva tie though.

Looks like my Signet Duel in the Sun Bronco Buster tie. Mine is more subdued than that though. I like yours. It has more color and more cowboys.
I just wish I could get the whole series of Duel in the Sun ties Signet put out in 1947.

I need a time machine. Set it to 1947 and buy a dozen of each. Ok, maybe steal a dozen of each when the store closes and no one is around. I am saving them for posterity! It is a preservation mission---nothing will stop me.

[Two Types]

I found myself in a vintage shop on the south coast yesterday and was in search of some ties. The owner fetched a crate from the basement. It was mostly filled with sixties knit ties, seventies monstrosities and a few bold-look American ties. But the first thing I saw was this box:

I thought to myself: That looks like a 1930s tie presentation box

I was very pleased to see the contents - five deadstock ties:

1) Austin Reed silk tie:

2) Houghtons - The Sirdar Scarf
