The design is Art Deco Galore. NOS Brocade from the 1930s.

You have to be careful there because the war years ended up being a continuation of the 30s when it came to ties and a lot of other clothing. Rationing and such made ties less likely to have liners and such like after the war on into the 50s. They were also the same length and width for the same reasons. It is tough to tell without all the necessary tags on them and many of them were removed. The 20s ties are easier to tell by the difference in construction.

I understand that. But I'm sure its 30s because of the design on the brocade are ART DECO indeed.

I am sure they still had some of that material laying around for quite some time.

As with most vintage, especially unlabelled ties, it's about the balance of probabilities. When all the features start stacking up preceded by "30s" … if it looks, sounds and feels like a duck. [it's probably made of wood]

But not in truth. It could well have been put together and sold in 1941. That would make it a 40s tie.

It is a nice tie that has survived. I agree. If you want something similar from 2013 then there is a thread here somewhere where you can order one---same construction.

looks, feels, and is constructed like 1930s tie = a 1930s tie.

if it looked like a 30s tie but constructed like a 40s tie then I would Agree.
