I have drank only one 6 pack of Olympia in my entire life, and it laid a headache on me almost of mad dog proportions. That said, that is still an awesome find, V.C. !!
Bamaboots ... I'm diggin' the horse-head hanger. I think we might have that covered wagon in storage somewhere. Sure looks familiar.
I picked these up at the antique mall yesterday. I've developed a collection of Paint-By-Numbers in the last couple of years. They look good in our '60s ranch house at the farm with the wood panelling and all. Craft House (1973).
Love the paint by #s Bob! I see those from time to time, but have resisted letting myself get started 'collecting' something else. I'll just enjoy other folks' acquisitions........for now.
Bamaboots, I've seen a few of those wagon lamps before. Pretty cool stuff. Late 50s/ 60s I'm guessing. The hat hooks are the cream of that haul. I'm always looking for good stuff like that, as I have too many hats and not enough places to put them.
Here's a cast iron hook I scored at a flea, many years ago.
In this neck of the woods, Bell Canada only used equipment produced by Northern Electric, so other manufacturers phones are somewhat hard to find. I was really pleased to find this one at the Sunday Market yesterday.
It's a Stromberg Carlson model 1543 produced in May 1947. It needs some work but that just makes it more fun.
Found another vintage Hopi bowl (by artist Anita Polacca) at a flea market in Mt. Grove, MO for $14. Anita Polacca is now 86 and has been a potter since 1940.
Picked up these bandanas (for 50-cents at a thrift store in Mt. Grove, MO) that were sewn into a scarf. Spent some time deconstructing them and ended up with two 16" x 16" Fast Color Trunk-Down Elephant bandanas. I think they are from the 1940s.
Today's yard sale finds
