I don't recall the name of the publishing companies and book sellers but there were a number that were associated with the Soldier of Fortune magazine as advertisers. They were also part of the various gun show circuits. They would be more likely to have a book or two on the subject.

Cold Steel used to make some you might contact them too.

A very good book on the subject is Antique American Switchblades: Identification & Value Guide by Mark Erickson and published in 2004 by Krause Publications. I highly recommend it.

I really like the blade, the entire knife is sweet. I dig the Bamboo it sits on. Nice !!

Isn`t this special blade somehow equal to a knife called KRIS? from the old Persia or around the arabian countries?
Have seen one once in a museum.
Carrying a knife in Denmark - with a fixed blade longer than 6 cm gives automatically 3 month in the slammer, and a fine like two month salary...not so funny to be round up by the police being armed, even with a fairly innocent looking knife. Carrying a gun nearly give you a sentence for lifetime:eeek:

The ban on switchblades has been on the books since 1958.

I'm not sure there has ever been a federal ban on switchblades. My understanding is that the federal ban is on balistic knives. There is a federal statute that controls importation and interstate shipment of switchblades...but not the possession of switchblades. Many states have outlawed the possession of switchblades. Others (such as North Carolina) allow possession but have enacted statutes that prohibit the concealment of switchblades.

But I'll admit that I've been wrong before. If someone can point me to a federal statute banning switchblades, I will stand corrected.

Thanks! It looks like the Feds have outlawed the possession of switchblades in all jurisdictions where the Federal Law is applicable...except within the various states. In other words, it appears that the Federal Law allows the states to determine for themselves the question of switchblade possession.

Of course, it also appears that the Federal Government could still prosecute the simple possession of switchblades via the Commerce Clause...if they could show that knife in question had been made anywhere other than where it was possessed...which would be true in almost every case.

I bought this knife last summer before going to Sweden for camping in the forests of Söderäsen.
This swiss Wenger/Victorinox multitool is legal in Denmark to wear at all times, due to the lengh of the blade being shorter than 7 cm.and becourse of the blade not being able to get locked in position.
There`s almost anything one can ask for in any given situation.
Are those knives welknown and common in US?

Indeed they are -- I have several different ones. Bet you don't have this one -- neither do I. :p

But between Victorinox and Wenger, the latter tends to have more specialised tools.

Nice Italians blackjack, my favorites! I am glad they are now legal in Indiana! My OTF Italian 777 Black Fingers!

Thanks, the one on the right is a 11" Frank Beltrame with a Blonde Horn handle. Really well made by hand Italian knife. The smaller 8" wood handle one is MUCH cheaper but still not a bad little knife.
