thorogood 1892 dodgeville sunflower before and after
ferrous acetate (note the stitches still bone colored), beeswax, gold accents, eyelets, etc.
I have 2mm noene w/ pedag viva 49 in there. Walks like clouds.

scored some 8 inch service chippewa. horween. vulkork. yay.
changed hooks and eyelets to speed fittings though.
the cougar laces a little grabby so I might swap those to T325 paracord later.
pretty happy with them so far.

Thank you! These are from the late 70s or early 80s. They cleaned up nicely.

Wearing a pair of black blutchers this afternoon. I present my Allen Edmond Wartons. Not sooooo vintage, but they are late 70's or early 80's according to Allen Edmonds. They have a 1/2 vibram lugged sole which is perfect for today's weather.

Eric, though not my style, I'm an admirer of fine footwear in any style. Every time I see someone post a blucher styled shoe I'm reminded that there is a cowboy boot maker, Gus Blucher that started his co. in Olathe, KS in 1915. Gone through several iterations but still doing business today in Beggs, OK. Supposed to be the longest, continually running cowboy boot shop.

I have seen the reporters vid before. It was posted on the boot thread a bit ago. He might be a fun visit this summer on the way to the cabin. I will have to make time. Technically his is in my back yard being 3 hours away. Is $1,000 a reasonable price for custom boots?

Sorry for the re-post, Eric. Didn't realize you had already seen it. $1,000 would be a very reasonable starting point for MTM cowboy boots.

I have posted these before, so apologies for the bored folks. I present my oldster Allen Edmonds McNeils with grained leather exterior. The Vibram lugges 1/2 soles are my latest resole. The luggs work well in today's melting snow. This morning I cream polished, clear waxed the toes, brushed/buffed vigorousely and edge dyed the shoes. Oldies, but favs.

Apologies for folks who identify these as not being from the golden era or earlier.

The manager of our local supermarket absolutely loves these shoes but when I told him where he could get himself a pair he smiled and said that his missus wouldn't let him wear something so flamboyant. He was serious too, so I didn't persist, but how sad it must be not to be able to express yourself. The style of the shoe is known as 'Gibsons,' they were very popular in the early 1950's.
