Even more digital photography

Sorry, I didn’t know digital was frowned upon. I used to shoot Fuji Velvia & theit film with the slightly faster ISO (name escapes me now). I have lots of transparency slides but no scanner or a way to digitize them to post.Even more digital photography
Sorry, I didn’t know digital was frowned upon...
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I miss it as well. There was something about the process. Every shirt I owned in high school was covered in fixer stains. LOLThere's plenty of room here for both traditional chemical photography and digital imaging. Both have their strengths and yield unique results.
And yes, even many of us old school film-shooters are now mainly using a hybrid process, since we're mostly showing our images online and on phones vs. paper prints. Personally, I haven't made a wet print in 15 years, but I still shoot b/w film... then scan the negatives and tweak the images on the digital side.
Ya know, if I did set up my parents' workhorse Omega D-3 enlarger and made a traditional print I was happy with... I'd just slap it down on the scanner as soon as it dried. So I feel like I'm cutting out the middleman.
That said, there's no question that darkroom printing is an impressive art in itself, and I sometimes miss doing it. My dad the lifelong pro photographer used to say, "Many a great picture is made in the darkroom, not in the camera."
I'll be developing a couple of rolls of film soon, so expect some b/w images from me here one of these days...
