I really like your photos, Trenchfriend. As a teenager I lived in Bad Kissingen, in northern Bavaria. Those Beech woods, rolling wooded hills and fields with those hunters' towers at the edges so remind me of there. We were always hiking and camping around the hills as teens. Also reminds me of the Rhoen hills, where Hessen, Thuringia and Bavaria met, we were always out hiking up there, near to the (at that time) East German border. Can I ask, where is that place with the little village and tower in the woods?
