Playing around with some photos I took yesterday at Mission San Jose' in San Antonio, TX – I love black and white.




And a “vintage tinted post card” look.

Great shots.
I found out that originally the exterior walls were covered with white plaster & adorned with very colorful tiles.
On the photo above & to the left, are remnants of the white plaster . Looking closely I found pieces of the
tile. I posted a photo ( can’t find it right now) I added the tiles to illustrate how it appeared several centuries ago.
I can only imagine how they must’ve appeared back in wilderness times to the
native indians.

There are stories about underground tunnels that went from one mission to the
other. Which were in part used as refuge from attacks by hostile indians.

I remember the ones located by Stinson Field area .
You probably know this about the missions, but it was something I never realized until now.
