Hey Shangas, any details on the leather suitcase at the bottom? Ebay seems to be full of them recently. Any definitive opinion on this thing? Is it worth getting or is it just a suitcase for display purposes?

I bought that suitcase YEARS ago. Christ. I was must've been...I think I was about...10 years old when I bought it. From a shop that no-longer exists.

It's not a big suitcase as you can probably tell. It'd hold enough for about two or three nights. But it's lockable, and the leather straps are completely removable, should you wish to take them off and use them for something else (strapping something else on top of it, for example). The top is expandable and it comes with two pockets inside the lid for storing small things.

Is it sturdy? Yes. I have packed it full and carried it around with no issues.

Is it just for 'display purposes'? Yes and no. It's no Louis Vuitton, but it does the trick alright. It's not going to fall apart on you.

Here's the exact same suitcase (may be a different size. They were sold in various sizes. Mine is like the second-or-third-smallest):

Whoever broke the handle on this must've been loading lead weights into it. I've packed mine for overnight trips, I've packed it for transporting stuff to antiques fairs and antique shows and day-events...and I've never broken the handle.

Dimensions of MY suitcase are as follows:

Height: 8 inches (fully-expanded).

Width: 20.5 inches.

Depth: 13 inches.

It comes with two keys to lock it.
