Nice looking coat, mid-fogey.

Here's another one of mine. The white thing on the lapel is a curling button I put on.
Nice heavy wool. Pebbled buttons. Belted back with a deep pleat to the vent, which buttons up.
1965 issue- East German?

I just bought a heavy wool Korean War era overcoat with button in liner.
It has 7th Army patches on the shoulder. Will try to post pics soon.

I just love animal prints, and I can't wait to receive my new treasure.
my husband HATES "animal print" anything- I think he thinks they are a little "ab fab" or something.

But most gals I know, especially vintage lovin' gals, can't get enough of leopard print/ zebra printa, spots, etc

1930's Mink Pelts with Bakelite Chain

I got one JUST like this for Christmas (Ebay). Even the clasp is exactly the same. Mine has no furrier's label in it, so I knew no way to date it except for the bakelite.

My newest overcoats

My first piece of vintage couture, circa 1960's. I got it a couple months ago, but it needed some repair work, and I decided to NOT go to the first alteration person in town after she told me I should "Just throw away all those old clothes" and made a face. :eusa_doh:

and my new $3.25 1950's overcoat that I got today. Gotta love it:

It looks handmade, very well hand made at that.

pierre cardin does the name mean anything?

Pierre Cardin is a great designer. His clothes arn't the greatest quality, however, very good for the price. I have several of his shirts, pants and ties.

He actually designed a lot of stuff from lamps to coffee machines.

Another fast fact: he designed the beatles collarless suits in the '60s.

Great find for free.

Today I pulled out my Korean War era overcoat. It weighs about 10 lbs but is worth the effort to wear.

Vintage Rainfair raincoat with removable wool lining. It's in perfect shape with a great glenplaid pattern. It even has a throat latch. Paid $10 for it at thrift:
