Not yet but it will be by month’s end. Fur supplier is flying out to show leather shop doing the work what best practice is when making a ruff.

Will post up as soon as I receive the jacket back from the shop for sure.

I got to tell you that this post made me call Stu at LW and order one of these mf’rs. This then triggered a serious admonishing from the boss, which I had to explain why I need another cross zip that looks like the other four hanging in the closet. I finally told her that this one has a pocket in the BACK!!!

By the way, I listened to the vast experience of this forum and called the man instead of emailing him. I was on the phone with him for about 1 hour discussing the jacket.

Pic ready yet? CAN'T wait to see the mouton....
I wish! I actually went by that shop yesterday as they had rec'd some mouton that was very nice but not large enough for the huge collar on a LW leather peacoat. There was a big delay in their receipt of a bigger skin so I picked the coat back up yesterday and told them that when the hide arrives to call me and I'd bring the coat back.

That is such a monster of a coat that I've truly missed it for as long as they've had it hanging in their shop waiting.

I see a common theme about LW and Stu. He's an old boot. Just call him and get what you want. Don't be too skeered. Even the most delicate little flower deserves to reward himself with a jacket that'll last a lifetime and it's not like you're going to get scuffed up in the process. Just do it.

Here is a lost worlds horsehide a2 that I just sold to Bmiller01.. just too small for me and it sat in the closet most of the time. Now it’s on its way to Kansas. Bmiller01 should have it tomorrow

Glad to hear it! Keep us posted when you get it. And it’s actually got 2 pockets in the back, plus a huge one upfront too (2nd vertical zip)

And good idea on giving Stuart a call. Helps to sort out a lot of details an email wouldn’t convey.

I definitely would recommend calling Stuart if you're interested in buying something from LW. Let me describe in more detail my call with him so that it can be helpful to somebody else who's interested.

First some back history. I had emailed him about 2 years ago asking on a G1, and it that whole conversation was a disaster. He was curt, and not really helpful and basically told me my way or the highway. I couldn't stop looking at his ancient website though. It's so bad that it ends up being good the more you look at it!!!

One model kept poking me in the eye, the Appalachian. There is very little information on this model, I liked the two pockets in the front which looked like internal A2 pockets and of course the two large zippers in the front. I would come back periodically and look at the awful website again.

Then, the post from @bigmanbigtruck showing a new vs. worn Appalachian and it looked so good that I couldn't stop thinking about it. F it, I called the man and whipped out my CC.

He was very excited to discuss this model. I think he described every stitch in detail. I asked for his 5oz horsehide, so I guess I'll be walking around wearing plywood boards for a while. He told me that if I wanted a heavy jacket, he would deliver a HEAVY jacket. He then went into the Crown zipper pontification. That must have been 25 min. of the call!! ****, if I'm spending this much, why not go all the way!!! They do look amazing and will definitely stand out. I'm a sucker for zippers. I thought about asking him for Riri zippers, but I figured best keep my mouth shut.

He mentioned NOS mouton removable collar and at first I declined. I changed my mind because if I ever would want that feature, it would be more expensive later. He went through all the pockets, specially the ones on the back. He joked that it could not be for beer since it's uncomfortable!.

I asked him about measurements. This is where I thought the call was going to go sideways. He asked me for my height and weight and said that I'm a 48R. I said that my Vanson CHP is a 48R and it fits me perfectly. He told me that sizing for other manufactures has no meaning to him. I asked him about the sleeve length and he told me 26in. I told him I would need to measure to be sure. I asked him what is the average back length for a 48R? He said 26in. I went home and measure the Vanson's sleeve. It is 25.5in, so I asked him if this was ok and he agreed. No extra charge, probably since I sprung for the expensive zippers, I'm guessing.

He was really helpful on the phone as long as you understand that he does things his way and you have to trust him.

Here's the regular collar he just did for me. Very fast turnaround surprised me...standard addition though...now it feels complete!

Was that mouton collar done by Lost Worlds? If so I'm glad I went with that option. I would have kicked myself if I didn't get it.
How does it feel when wearing the jacket? Does it feel like an appendage was added or does it blend in?

The photo is wonky because it's just a quick one from him to show it's done and on the way back, and that's definitely a unique approach he deploys to get the collar snapped on...but it's really perfect. See how the inside part that touches the neck is very flat at the curve? Mastery! Warm, comfortable...now to enjoy...

And yes, he definitely did it, and BOY am I glad. The same incredible work he's known for in every way. Such a simple thing, but 75 ways it could go wrong done some other way by someone else....

Wow, looks great. May I ask how much, and do you think he could do one for a LW Speed Demon I own?
I'm certain he can do anything on one of his own jackets....your collar would be larger and perhaps more involved? Not sure...but do it man!!

Wise move, and the Crown zipper is a really nice upgrade.

This sounds 100% like Stu. For what it is worth though, I wear size 46 in Vanson and my LW CHP in 46 fits very similarly, perhaps a bit tighter through the shoulders. As long as the stock length is good for you then you are set.

Thanks for the pics. That does look amazing and I'm really glad I got that on the order. Love the rust color, contrasts really well with the black leather.

Good to know. He didn't even hesitate on my size. No pictures, just height and weight. Compared to the 20 emails with pictures, measurements, etc. I exchanged with Aero on size and they still had to remake the jacket!!!
