VFW overseas cap of Pearl Harbor Survivor Milton W. Verberg (1921-2019) of Orange, California. On December 7, 1941, Verberg, a 20-year-old Army medic, was at Hickam Field. While tending to the wounded the second wave of Japanese planes struck Hickam flying so low that Verberg could see the faces of the pilots. After the war Verberg transferred to the Navy and served as a Corpsman during the Korean War.
