I love your hair colour. I was tempted to dye my hair that hue for about 6 months but never followed through and now it's too late! It looks as lovely as I imagined though, so good job on looking fabulous.

i think for the same reason many of us here in the pacific northwest do! i'm italian, and since i moved up here, the palest in my extended family by far! lol (not that my skin is amazing or even translucent... just pale for my family...)

back on topic....

geez gals, the bar is getting set pretty high here! :eusa_clap i need to do some experimenting this week so i can try to keep up!

It's the terrible weather that gives us the super-pale skin! Also, I've been using cold cream for the last month or so and my skin is just a million times better - far less blemishes.

I left the rollers in for about half an hour - until they went cold. I had to re-do a couple of bits as well as I have so much hair it's hard to do it all with just one set of rollers! It held really well too - I've been using Schwarzkopf Heat protecting curl spray and it's really good - a bit crispy before you brush it out but it's got some real staying power. It was on offer in superdrug for £1.99!! It brushed into lovely waves today as well. I think I prefer my remmington rollers to the hotsticks - much more user-friendly and not so harsh heat-wise.

Anyway, I'm really glad I'm not p*ssing everyone off with all my postings! I have to give credit to everyone who has given me advice and inspiration on here too - I would never have achieved any of it without my FL Dolls' invaluable help

I know you must all be sick of my hair pics this weekend but I've just had way too much time on my hands... so here are 2 more I'm afraid!!

Went out bowling on saturday and here is my bowling hair:

Well my hair "training" is paying off! I did my hair for my most recent shoot on the night before the third day since washing, and it turned out marvellously! The setting lotion prevented too much grease and the slight dirtiness made the curls take and hold even better than normal!

I got a nice little wave and a mass of curls at the bottom!

AND it was still OK the next day so I re-set it with Hotsticks before a night out!

Fleur De Guerre, gorgeous as usual. Can I ask how long your hair is unstyled? I think I need a hair chop to get the hairstyles I want, but not sure how short to go.

A little embarrassed...

...because this is my first attempt EVER at reverse rolls and pin curls...AND I'm following Fleur and Dolly and Hannah, all of whom are so far ahead of me, I can barely see your dust. Here I am just thrilled that the pin curls actually CURLED! I've got a long way to go, as you see...but hey, it can only get better from here, right?

The rolls. Took me two days of practice to get this! I'll hide the bobby pins better next time:

Pin curls out and brushed! Next time: end papers, for sure...and I'll pay better attention to which direction the curls are going. I kept forgetting in the middle of a row!

Practice, practice, practice... Thanks, everyone, for posting all your tips & tricks. Without you gals here on the FL, I'd still be putting my hair in a ponytail!

HepKitten - I think it looks great. I haven't tried pincurling in a while (because the last one came out fugly!), so yours are waaaaay better than mine! That side swoop is purty.

MissHannah - Every hair-do you post chips away at my self-esteem little by little...but they're lovely so don't stop! Maybe you can tell us your setting pattern in the other thread? And is the flower-do just in a ponytail? You look like a chic little French lady in the first picture.

Hepkitten: Your curls and rolls are very pretty! I certainly can't tell it's your first time. I know what you mean about being a bit intimidated, I'm still figuring things out too. I'm very impressed with your pin curls, I still haven't managed those. Keep trying new things and posting, you're doing great!

Here I go... (deep breath)

My first attempt at pin curls using fingers and bobby pins. Was really terrified with the effect and thought I did something wrong.

This is how it looks like at the back

I put the sides up in 2 rolls. I don't what to make of this hairdo. My brother was laughing at me the whole day.

After the pin curl nightmare, I tried again the front roll using velcro rollers. Think I use 3 (Sharpie marker size). I just hot thong the back and I tied the side up in a pony. (not very vintage) But at least I got the bang.

I chop off my hair last weekend and this is what I did yesterday. My stylist took of a bit more off to what I want. I wanted a middy plus haircut and i think he gave me a baby or something. This is done with pin curls at the back and sides and velcro rollers on the bangs.

Shamrocq, I think your hair turned out beautifully in all of your attempts. I do think the short hair suits you. You look really nice. The first time I did pincurls I looked like and 80's disaster, but I found out later that it was because I didn't brush them out enough. Snookie has a fantastic setting pattern in the setting pattern central thread that uses hot sticks but still helps with the brushing out to make the curls a bit smoother.

MissS, my hair is somewhere in between chin and shoulders. I am growing it though as I miss my longer locks.
