Updates: With the help of a nose-job on her ejector, Athena just successfully hand-cycled for the first time yesterday afternoon. Slidelock to drop slide on a snapcap for reload, rack to extract and eject, repeat and back into slidelock from ejection of second snapcap and empty mag.

Now other than her ignition system and throating the barrel ramp, it's a matter of finding a refinisher to get her into her party dress and a range for her first dance...

Old Ugly also has some new leather, Liz Heisler at SARCO was so kind as to have the shop guy set me up with a left-handed version of a WWII officer's pistol belt. The leather colors don't match perfectly, but during the War with a malignantly anti-southpaw culture a left-handed officer would have had to MacGyver whatever he could get to make things work; I'm interpreting it as "private purchase holster on issue belt."
