Deacon, she's a beaut! Title I M1, right?

You might check out 1927A1.com for some reliability and mag mods (Kahr stock you have to use modded mags, if you swap in a GI or modded catch you can use out-of-wrapper MILSURPs), and if you're not a member at MachineGunBoards.com you should be... (Tell 'em "Dennis Nedry" sent ya.)

That's not Class III for where you're located is it?

I know corporations can get a stamp for Class III as I used to run a range in Southern Illinois with several Class III weapons, but for the ordinary Joe, Class III in Illinois ist verboten.

I wouldn't put it past them to do so, but no, nothing like that yet.

We had an Ingram, MP5, and an Uzi on the range for rental. That Ingram was a hoot!

I always wanted a G3 myself.

Nope, not a Class 3, I can dream though! I may pop for the $200 SBR stamp for it some day. It looks really good in the rack with the Garand,1903A3 and other WW2 guns.

Micahel, where was the range? And are you still here?

The range was in Belleville on North Illinois Street owned by Rick Yale. I was with him for about eight years until he sold the range to someone from out of state. It's still open as far as I know, but rates doubled with everything else, and I don't know if the new owner ever got his stamp for the autos.

I resigned shortly after the change in ownership. The guy is (or was) a complete jerk.

Hey guys, not a collector or even an enthusiast even but I've got a couple of utilitarian hand-me downs. Gun on top was my grandfathers .300 Savage that I believe is pre 50's. The next was his varmit .22, an O.F. Mossburg. pre 40's I believe. And the bottom gun is a newer .22 Marlin .

And then there's the Big guns!!

Just being funny!!

This is a little before the era our little group is interested in but it's pretty cool none-the-less. I was strolling through the gun show today and saw this wild west beauty for less than half what I normally see them going for - needs a main spring but that's it! All there, all the markings clear as a bell, locks up tight, grips are perfect but changing to a chocolate brown color, and decent suction in 1873 Winchester caliber (44-40). Merwin Hulbert third model double action revolver made around 1880-1890. Take a look:

.

Has an intertesting three letter stamped mark that looks like H.E.R. - anybody got any ideas about that one?

Really great find! Those revolvers are very well made, the NRA TV show recently featured these.

The OF Mossberg .22 you have there was selected to be a training rifle for the Royal Army and the US Army as well. I have one of these training rifles. The model is a 42M with micrometer rear sight and multiple aparture front sights. It will fire short, long, and long rifle cartridges. I don't think there is much collector value, but it's a nice shooter. This particular model of mine was one sent to England during the early part of the war for marksmanship training.

Besides mine, your's is the first of this rifle I've seen in another's collection.

Thanks Michael, that an interesting bit of information that I didn't know about the Mossberg. To tell the truth..I've never shot the gun. My grandfather passed away three years ago at the age of 94 and the family decided I should have the gun. I never heard how he acquired it but I've a few uncles that I might ask now.

Great selections gents. The Savage is a total classic, a true heirloom even if it wasn't an inheritance. The Merwin Hulbert is a beauty, can't wait to see a range report on all of them.
