And one of the whole Smith family.

It's been re-blued, has a bit of pitting on the right side of the barrel. Clean bore, nice and tight. A lot of these had tough lives in service, so all in all it's in pretty decent shape.

Those are all so good that it's hard to pick a favorite, but by a little it would be the 25-5. They are rare around here, and the one I have is just "shooter-grade" and a bit worn, but very accurate. Do you reload .45 Colt for it? If so, do you use .451 or .452 or .454 bullets?

Here she is. I sold it fairly low at $615, but I needed the cash. I did get it cheap though. Paid $360 5 years ago. I've sold most of my guns over the last couple of weeks, divorce will do that to you. Oh well, que sara, sara.

I do reload 45lc, and have always used .451 for my Uberti and Colt single actions. The 25-5 does suffer from the typical oversized cylinder throats they are known for. I have picked up some 255 grain .454 lead but haven't gotten around to loading any up yet.

Here are a couple of my old revolvers. (I am suddenly taken with the realization I have to photograph some more of the arsenal.)

The Colt Detective Special was manufactured in 1948 by the serial number and had the Fitz modifications done after market. I bought it in the Los Angeles area from another collector who said his research indicated it had been sold in the same area originally. It probably belonged to a cop of some sort. As a true Colt, the timing is so bad it nearly cannot be fired. But it looks cool.

The Smith & Wesson Military & Police in two inch was a Nebraska find. According to the story (always a story attached to an old gun) the revolver was purchased by an old farmer and he carried it 'all the time'. I added the grip adapter, but the grips are original. It still shoots rather well.

Okay, I can't post attachments, the page tells me. I'll return and attempt it again. Use your imagination in the meanwhile.

You need to keep posting. There's a minimum number of posts required before the site lets you post photos. I think it's 25 but it's been so long I don't remember.

I am in total shock in awe! It's so beautiful! Did it come with the diamond target grips as well?
