She did make a matching bolero to go over her shoulders, I didn't think to photograph it. Here's the lady wearing that dress. We stayed in a beautiful hotel, I used the library as a backdrop.

Does anyone know where I can find shoes close to those? i am having a terrible time finding white wedges.

Rocket Originals are very good, they have a stall at practically every retro festival we go to. But where she bought those particular shoes was at a 30's/40's jive weekender called HepCats. The company didn't have a stall, but the lady whose business it is, just happened to mention to my wife what her business was, and the reason she mentioned it was because my wife was styling her hair in a typical late 1930's fingerwave bob. Blyers were very common with swing dancers back when Neo Swing was popular (circa 1998-2000). I seem to remember that they don't have a very good track record for holding up well. YMMV.

Wearing History Overalls, I knew I had to make these as soon as I saw the pattern, sellotape at the ready. I'll definitely be making the trousers from this pattern. I made a size 20, bust 38", waist 32" and hips 41" as it was suggested that this pattern ran a size small, they are very comfortable and have a little ease.

Last thing I made was this skirt (the gray one). I cut the pieces from a 1930s pattern and then just winged-it! Made it up as I went. I change out the buttons on the pockets depending on my mood/sweater!

Knock-off Swirl dress - aiming for early 50s

The basic shape is there, however I have some work to do on the armscye and I will raise the back neck a bit. I want a fuller skirt, and I'll also try a narrower skirt with an inverted front pleat in a future version.
I took two horizontal darts in the back (I treated this dress like a fitting garment) which I have 'translated' to my flat pattern. There also a sewn pleat center front of the bodice which will disappear from the final version.
