Beautiful work everyone. I moved last month to a much smaller place and still haven't got my sewing space in order ,but here are to things I made before the move.

You and your dress look amazing, and I LOVE the summer dress too- the waist detailing is really pretty! I’m quite envious of all the ladies who seem to finish all their projects- it’s a skill I have yet to master!!! :eusa_doh:

Beautiful dresses!!!

I made this little custom order today. My parents bought me an embroidery machine <3 so I have been playing around with that lately :D

Here's my latest outfit! The dress is from a modern pattern, Vogue 7848. The bolero is from Anne Adams 9243

This dress is beautiful! I love the little anchor on the skirt!

I completely caught the hat bug. My latest creation was a jute summer hat:

Flicka, this hat is so pretty! The flowers look really good, the colours work really nicely together. It makes me think about going for picnics in the sunshine, bring on the summer! :)

Thanks, ladies!
Lorelai, the navy is a lightweight twill, the white is labeled canvas but it's much thinner and drapier than canvas. I got them both at my local Hancock Fabrics.

Nope, sorry! Didn't weave it myself. I used a ready-made jute cone.

I'd be happy to make a hat for you, but it's not very hard. I described how I made this on my blog:

http://dulloldperson.blogspot.se/2012/05/diy-how-to-make-simple-hat.html

I've just ordered some straw braid so I'm going to experiment with making a straw hat from scratch. We'll see how it goes...

Right now I'm making so many hats I don't know what to do with them. My latest creation which I made in about 20 minutes (black felt cloche with a big bow at the nape of the neck):

I'm thinking I might try selling some of them later on. Is this completely crazy or doable? I just need to get rid of them because I'm making way more than I have room for and I feel sort of bad just throwing them away... I make them all by hand and block them on an original 1940s wooden hatblock.

Are you nuts? Of course you can sell them, if you can be bothered with listing and shipping and dealing with customers. At the very least, donate them. It would be a crying shame to throw those lovely hats away.

I'll bet you could sell them, Flicka, especially if you can make them to size. For myself, I can't buy a hat that fits. No really, not even a men's baseball cap will fit over my watermelon head comfortably. (My family thinks it's just all of my hair, but they're being nice. It's a combo.) I once found the largest size Wrangler's cowboy hat and it actually fit, but that is the only one ever.

You'd be crazy not to sell them!!

Flicka - I am sorry I am just getting to this hat party, could you tell me more about the felt you are starting from? Do you have a picture of the felt cone you are referring to in your blog? I love hats and have several I am in need of making!
