Oh! I saw the tutorial for spats on the Steampunk Workshop! Have you tried to make knee high spats? I really want a pair as i can't find suitable knee high boots :rage:

Spats are kinda my thing, I've made tons of knee high and even thigh high ones to be held up with garters

Wow, I am totally in love with that dress - and you're right, it does look like authentic vintage...I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference!

Marian Martin 9359

Marian Martin 9359 (no date, probably circa 1946). I've made two versions: The first one was out of a navy blue print but I found that I needed to alter the front yoke pattern piece, as it was much too long along the inside [neck-side] edge. Once I did that, it fit perfectly. I thought this was odd since it's technically a half-size [petite] pattern, and I am 5'7". But whatever. It works now. The second, rust-colored version, is made with the re-cut yoke,

This is also the dress that taught me to always, always, always, baste when working with rick-rack. Saved me hours of inevitable ripping and re-sewing had I just tried to pin it all together instead.

I did pretty well for not having knit in years. Only had to unravel it a few times!
I thought I was done twice,only to find I'd dropped a stitch a few rows down. This is a fun beret to knit, it knits up really big then you felt it down to size.

this is the test B5214 in $1.50/yd fabric it still needs some work (well rework). it's a size bigger than the parade dress and I need to redo the zipper again and I'm mad at it (ok myself) and I'm putting it down for a short time. also not pleased at the collar, apparently I goofed on one of the corners but I don't think it shows in the picture

and this one, which had to be sized down A LOT. it's still not perfect I should try to pull it in more in the waist but I wore it to work today anyway. still need to do the button & button hole on the bolero but it was ok w/o it
