Everyone has MAD SKILLZ!! DPD -- your simple 30s dress is gorgeous. Again, we have the same taste!

Here's what I whipped up this weekend:

The sleeve isn't wonky (only under the arms where the stripes meet lol) -- I haven't put the zipper in yet and I pinned it up like that. From this:

MissAmelina was kind enough to let me borrow it and make a copy for myself.

It's a modern pattern that I redrafted to fit into a more 50s silhouette. I just did this for pics on my blog, and I have no foundation garments (hence the pook)

I also saw these and thought they were cute, so I made my own:

I am in the process of making a voodoo doll fascinator, would there be any interest in seeing that or is it too creepy? (And yes, there is a story to why that.)

AJ, that dress is to-die-for!
Elaina, I love your skirt and matching bows!
deadpandiva, that dress is really cute! I wouldn't have noticed the revers if you hadn't mentioned it.

WOW! I am sort of ashamed to post what I made after seeing all you lovley creations. I am actually quite proud of this even though the revers are a little lopsided.

Oh my!!! You have no reason to feel ashamed of this gorgeous dress! My jaw hit the keyboard when I saw it--beautiful!

I'm always in awe of how quickly and beautifully you sew these items up! :) I have been dying to make a dress from this pattern (which I always am outbid on or it's slightly out of my pattern spending range! lol) for ages. I just adore your version--so cute!

Amy, yes, I did shorten it. I am very short, about 5'1" so I not only shortened the shirt, I shortened the bodice as well. I also took out a bit of the fullness of the skirt. It hits me right at the knee, though it looks like it might be shorter in the photo.
