The Usual Shave and Would-Be Shave
I bought the exact same blades from the Navy Exchange but the carton said they were made by the American Blade Co. if memory serves. I looked around to find more about them but didn't find much. Still, 10 blades for around $1.60 is more reasonable than 10 for $6.00 they want for the Merkur blades at the local mall.
As for my shave:
grandfather's old Gillette adjustable DE
Col Conk's Almond
silvertip badger brush from R. Lauren I've had for nearly 15 years
cetaphil lotion
I have a Dovo straight I've wanted to use more for about 15 years as well but I still haven't found anyone I trust to hone it and I've butchered myself more than once. For now I'll just pay to get the shave done professionally so I can see how it goes then try after the razors ready.
I've got the strop, strop paste, and razor but oddly enough have no idea what to do with any of it!

I have heard reports that these blades are actually a big manufacturers blades which are re- or un-branded for DG's use. They are marked made in the US on the back side of the blade, so I am unsure of the veracity of the above statement now....
I used one today with the Slim Adjustable and got an decent shave. Had a few more weepers than usual, but the blade didn't feel as sharp as a Feather, say. I may have to try this blade with a Super Speed or perhaps my Merkur Classic and see what type of results I get.
The blades are 5 for $1, and come in the typical white plastic slide out case with the slot in the back for used blades. But, there are other blades out there for less than 20 cents each which right now I think are better..YMMV
