In the spirit of the holidays, I thought that maybe some of you would enjoy sharing and reading fellow Loungers' Hat Wish Lists. Modern or vintage, mens or womens, brand, movie hat, whatever. For the sake of those whose lists are incredibly long, let's shoot for our top five or less. What have you been craving? What would finally "complete" your collection?

I'll start things off. In no particular order;
1. A gray or silverbelly vintage Disney (like Snrbfshn's Robin Hood).
2. A tan vintage Lee Trinity.
3. An non-Indy Adventurebilt (still thinking about color).
4. A gray vintage Whippet.
5. Joseph Cotton's hat from The Third Man!

Well, I hope people enjoy this one. If we can't have it all, at least we can dream!

Not being as familiar with the vintage line ups, I can sy that I'd like to get some more hats in a fedora style in Brown, navy, tan and a straw Panama type, plus I would love to get a straw boater to add to my small collection. Also I like to get one in what I think is refered to as mink, where it is a medium light tan with a hint of a reddish color.

Oh course I need a suit for each of the hats.

eBay once offered a hat that had belonged to comedian Red Skelton. It wasn't one of the he used on TV ... is anyone else here old enough to remember when he'd say, "Gimme my hat!" and they'd throw him an old brown fedora which he would then transform in a dozen different ways to create a dozen different characters? Even though that wasn't the hat, it was very tempting. I've always been a big fan of Red's, and I actually got to meet him nearly thirty years ago. He was an absolutely delightful man. I'd love to have THAT hat, the one he called for every week on TV.

Christmas Red

I'm a bit young, but I was raised on my parents' music and tv. My favorite Christmas special was a Freddy the Freeloader "movie" that I'm still hunting for to this day! And as a kid, I imitated his schtick with that hat... even though the other kids had no idea who Red Skelton was.

My wish list is topped by a grey Open Road. I have a nice old silver belly, but the tan color isnt quite as becoming to me as I think grey will be.

I'm keeping my searches running - I'll find it in the next few months.

My fedora wish list is less about brands and models and more about style and color:
-- I'll echo others, Joseph Cotton's lid from "The Third Man."
-- A dark blue one.
-- A light blue one.
-- A black one.
-- A Panama (at least I know how to take care of that, thanks to PB).
