:eusa_clap You made me giggle, LizzieMaine. I love all those old nicknames--looking through my great-grandfather's scrapbook from the twenties, in college, everyone had one. Carrot, Socky, Hap...I need to start calling my friends some of those, just to throw everyone off balance. :D

I was ready to ask Lizzie how many yuppies and wiseguys she knew! lol

Well, funny you should ask that -- I have two cousins (twins) named Biff and Bing, another cousin named Chip, and my brother-in-law is called Butch.

On the other hand, my brother's nickname is "Pantleg." That's one I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else.

On to female names (all of them from my own family) --

Winona (my grandmother)
Winifred (my great-grandmother)
Clara (my other great-grandmother)
Hazel
Edith
Florence
Bonnie
Ruthie
Mildred

Please explain Pantleg, I'm curious.

Well, it actually started with a guy I was seeing back in the early '80s -- we walked into the local pizza joint one afternoon, and my brother was in there, leaning up against the Space Invaders machine trying desperately to look cool and dangerous -- but he had one leg of his pants tucked into his sock, I guess to keep it from getting tangled up in his bicycle chain. And he had forgotten to un-tuck it. And the guy i was with saw him, gave him a look, and announced in a loud voice, "GET A LOAD OF LITTLE PANTLEG."

And forever after, that has been his name. He had to move halfway across the country to escape it, poor kid.
