No where to find used ? Machine ?

There isn’t, that I know of, some repository of used hatting equipment. It’s catch-as-catch-can. Call JW and see what they have, maybe they can steer you to used equipment. Mostly it’s lots of time and dry holes between finds. You might need to put in a lot of time and effort.

Sound advice, it always the same, when you want it you can't find it. When you find it, you are not usually looking for it, so you dither, only to find it sold when you decide to go for it.

The German Pfaff company produce a machine specifically designed for hatband sewing, it's called the PFAFF 3307 -4/02. Prices range from $1600 upto $6700 depending on a variety of add ons, gizmos and attachments. http://asmstitch.com/en/http:/asmst...-product/pfaff-3307-402-for-tacking-hatbands/
Now all you have to do is find the owner who has bought such a machine only for it to become a five minute wonder and is now collecting dust. It's such a specialist market that it's unlikely they would get much for it, so there it sits, all forlorn, just waiting for you to come along and make an offer on it.

Yes, and that is why most hatters when they start out become, out of necessity, masters at improvising, making do or McGivering a gizmo to do the job.

I bought a JUKI LS-321 under the impression it would work to sew a leather sweatband. Maybe I just don’t have the right foot? Can anyone help? Maybe an overlock foot, just not familiar with the name so having a tough time finding one
