Thanks! This is great! I have some from a Montgomery Wards catalog 1935, but it's in pdf format. Is there a way to share?

EDIT: I was able to post them on Google Docs. So if anyone is interested PM your email. That's the only way to share. When I get a chance, I'll rescan in JPG format.

I found it interesting that as early as 1938 (and possibly earlier), Sears was promoting fused collars, which at the time probably seemed like an innovation (as did no-iron polyester blends 30 years later). It's odd that there were only two French-cuffed shirts, one of which was collarless.

By the way, I didn't see any shoes. In another place, I saw men's shoes from the spring 1934 Sears catalogue.

Every one seemed to be Goodyear welted, even those that today's inflated dollars would probably cost no more than $50 to $60. Of course, with little domestic shoe production today, you can't even buy comparable shoes for less than $200 to $300.

Bump!
I am updating this thread with Texasgirl's July thread.

It is worth your time to Take a look at the scans she added to our resource. Catalog give us an idea of the colors, patterns, and styles available to a particular era.

Not quite, but if that new suit had some shape and was made of a better fabric, it could be pretty cool- I like the details,

The variety in styles, especially when int comes to the back of the coat is simply astonishing for RTW.
Nowadays, it's hard to find a belted back RTW coat. Recently I found one from RLPL, in an ivory Panama fabric - it also has a vertical pleat and is very nice. However compared to what they used to have, it's nothing special.
