Thanks again for all the helpful responses. I think I'm landing on the Y'2 Leather Single Riders KR-42 in size 42. Size-wise, I like that it's a little bigger for layering. I won't be buying new because some of the stitching I've seen from Y'2 is far from perfect and they don't guarantee measurements, so buying used allows you to consider a specific jacket vs. something they make for you. I'll likely make a WTB post in Classifieds in the next few days.

THANKS AGAIN!

A lot of Japanese premium brands are moving towards bigger stitches in the past few years productions, I can see the difference between my jackets that were made 4 or more years ago vs the ones within the last 4 years. Out goes the super tiny stitches in with the small medium stitches. Y'2 always had stitches like the later. They're good.

Y'2 single rider is a very popular model, they do it in all different leathers in all different prices, starting at lower prices in steerhide to expensive prices in leathers like sumi dyed or the Kakishibu. If you can try it on first to find your sizing on these before swinging for the big expensive ones. Since everyone paid high prices for their Kakishibu single riders I don't think they will sell for less, but a lot of the steerhide ones or the thin vintage horse can be found for as low as in the 300 ish range, especially from Japan. When buying used always ask for a tape to the jacket photo.

so if I don’t want the white bone look and like butterscotch-caramel of the 3rd link (natural aero) I need to just stick with natural horse hide, possibly Horween?

I’d like to go through Johnson but aero is plan B

I've got some different natural hides / jacket from different makers and sources. Gonna wait until this summer to start tanning them all at the same time. And document the journey. The thing is some raw ones already starting to change very mildly indoors just hanging on the rack.
