Interestingly, I saw a gentleman dressed in similar fashion last night at my daughter's preschool Thanksgiving party. He is from Ethiopia, and is a agriculture professor at Texas A&M. Was wearing a long duster and a very nice silver and turquoise bolo tie... He have have taken dressing like a native to heart.

It actually looked good on him; a bit strange to see the clothes I associate with good old boys on an African with shoulder length dreds, but it looked good, in an odd sort of way.
