love the spoon handle and double triggers. is it a Mannlicher stock. Beautiful firearms, I had one or two WW2 capture guns come through the shop. Favorite was the one the widow brought in wrapped in bubble wrap that her husband had brought home from ETO. She almost fainted when we told her the value. Brokered it for her wish I had purchased it from her.

WH1,
Not a Mannlicher stock. I try sometime for a full photo.

Had a kid bring in an Oberndorf "A" once!!! In 30/06! Typical African express!! Just like Osa Johnsons 9.3 x 62 that Is currently in a private Collection in Houston!!!! Belonged to his grand dad or great grandad who was a US Army Colonel. ( damn hard for me these days to look at guys who aren't much older than me who are already great grand dads).
Oh this rifle was one of those that really got my dander up! It was pristine. And I was damn impressed he wanted to keep it!!! And use it!!! A true kindred spirit this kid was!

As promised. The complete rifle

Oh, now, that's just the sort of things dreams are made of. This month's Rifleman has an article on loading the 6.5x54. I owned one once but it had been made, I guess, for either a very small man or a lady. It was just too small for my frame so I sold it. Would love to get my hands on one that fit, full-length stock or no. I do love that cartridge and that action . . .

Since taking my hiatus from the board I've done a bit of collecting. I'll have to get some pictures but when I last left off I'd just picked up a Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in .30-06. Well I've now got a pair of Pre-64 Winchester Model 94s in .30-30 lever guns, and my pride and joy..an M1 Garand. Not really safari guns, but I'm working on it. Looking at picking up a matched pair of Sharps this weekend, one is a carbine chambered in .50-70 the other a rifle in .45-70. Also picked up several single action revolvers and an early Winchester trench gun. I got on a bit of a roll there for a couple months and bought almost a dozen guns. LOL.

A 1949 M70 Super Grade in .300 H&H (or, as the barrel stamp says .30 magnum since the were no other .30 magnums then).

Playing with loads for a 2016 Elk hunt. so far the 180 Accubond is the one at 2950 fps with 3/4" groups at 100.

Just reviewing this old thread and noticed that great looking wet formed sheath, very nice indeed, did you make it? And any chance of a view of the skinning knife?

Thank you kindly.

Except for a 9.3 x 62 in the safe, this is about the closet thing I have left to a Safari rifle. Not a .405, but it's little brother the .35 WCF.

Had it out last January chasing nilgai.
