Update!
MissLaurieMarie – Alberta, Canada <--- box is on the way to her!
Lindabelle – NSW, Australia

After Lindabelle, we'll be done with this round, and I'll ask her to ship the box back to me. What is the interest level in doing another round?

I got the box today - it actually arrived yesterday according to the tracking info but Canada Post doesn't like to put out a slip until it's been sitting in the post office for a week or so >.< Good thing I checked online!

Here is what I took! Mostly eye shadows and soaps :)

FYI - I didn't see a log list. Did I miss it or did it get lost along the way?
I PM'd Lindabelle for her address and will send it on ASAP.

I am not interested in doing another round.

Ah, good! I put the Boots toner in there; it's no longer available in stores around here, but I found I didn't really fancy it for my skin. The bottle is very pretty, though, isn't it? :) I actually think that Boots is going to or has already discontinued the Original Beauty Formula line, which that toner is from.

The toner is not available in *that* packaging anymore but rather relabeled under their Botanics line. It smells the same and I believe has the same ingredients. I just buy a bottle and dump it in the fancy one. :)

Good to see the Mary Kay samples making their way to new homes. Someone I know gave me the kit they used to sell the stuff because they were no longer in the business. A lot of the shades of powder were too light/dark for my skin.

I would be interested in another round. Still lots of stuff I couldn't bag up for the box(es) I had needing a new home!

I just emailed Lindabelle and update, but I will post one here as well.
I went to ship the box today and I had no idea it would cost over $80 to ship. Perhaps I am naive and out of the postal system, but wow.
The postal worker told me the flat rate did not apply outside of the United States.
I will be able to send the box after my next payday at the end of the month - probably the 3rd as Canada Day on the 1st means everything is closed Sunday AND Monday. The only other option for me is to split it into 2 boxes for $50.

Sorry again for the delay.

I've just emailed MissLaurieMarie to let her know that I wouldn't expect anyone to pay that amount of money for shipping. It wouldn't be fair. I suggested that she sends the box back to Fortworthgal and I will remove myself from the list. Can't say I'm not disappointed but I have enjoyed watching the beauty box's progress and seeing what everyone has picked. It was swell of you to let me participate in the first place. :)

Wow, $80!?!?! :eeek:

I can't ask someone to pay that much to ship the box, and Lord only knows what it would cost LindaBelle to ship it back to the US. On the other hand, I hate to disappoint anyone.

What's the general consensus?
A. End the round, LaurieMarie ships the box to me, and we do sign-ups for a round 3.
B. Everyone chip in somehow, and we ship to LindaBelle & then back to the US.

I would really hate for Lindabelle to miss out on the box, especially since she she was/is so excited to get it.
I don't mind paying the full cost (I just had to wait to get paid) or even splitting the boxes into 2 separate shipments, which would break down the cost to $50, but one box would probably lag behind the other.

In other news, I really do not like Canada Post! Maybe if I ship it UPS it will be a different price? Let me do some research and come back.

If there is a round 3, I'd love to join if it's after the first week in August (summer courses for II start on Monday and I cannot commit during a time crunch for me).

OK, here is an update!
I've shopped around and $80 will be the cheapest it can be shipped to Australia. It will be $35 to send to the US.
Please discuss and let me know what YOU think should be done, as this is a GROUP effort.

I have to admit as much as I would have loved to have been a part of this I knew that shipping costs would be prohibitive from North America to Australia (and vice versa). The tyranny of distance.....
I don't see what your comment achieves except to say how clever you are and how stupid I was to consider be a part of this in the first place.. I already felt bad about the cost.I didn't really think the postage would have been that high. I think I just was excited about participating and I've said before I really don't expect anyone to spend that amount shipping and it was the best idea to send the box back to Forthworthgal. I'd just like to thanks to MissLaurieMarie and Fortworthgal even considering to send the box to me. I have a really horrendous time with my health the last 2 months and I appreciate your kindness.

Okay, so is the consensus to send the box back to me and we start sign-ups for round 3?

I feel *really* badly about this situation, but I must admit that I too had no clue the shipping would be quite so costly. I rarely do any shipping overseas or internationally, and I suppose I am spoiled with the USPS flat rate pricing. I had no clue the shipping cost would be so high.

I feel really bad as well! :( Please do not feel bad Lindabelle, it is certainly not your fault! I don't think anyone anticipated shipping to be that high. But I have a solution!
As a compromise, I could re-open the box, make a list of what is in there, send the list & photos to Lindabelle. Then, she chooses what she wants, which will be a much lower cost; a 11 in. x 8-1/2 in. x 2-1/2 in. box that weighs ~4 lbs will be $25. Lower weight, lower cost. Currently, the box is ~10 lbs. and 12 x 12 x 6 in = $86. Then I can send what is left back to FortWorthGal.

I should have thought of this earlier! I know it's not the same as getting the whole shebang, but at least you will still get to participate Lindabelle!

MissLaurieMarie- great work! I never would have thought of that. Thank you for being willing to take on a bit of extra work for all of us. :)

Lindabelle- if you have a few (small, light) things you want to contribute to the next round, perhaps you could send them directly to FortWorthGal who can consolidate for the next round? This way you can still participate, and like MissLaurieMarie, not have to ship the whole beauty box.

Thank you so much MissLaurieMarie you really are so kind. I have felt really bad putting everyone out. I was going to suggest something similar to Sheeplady's idea. That way I can contribute as well. If I'm careful what I pick it hopefully won't cost too much to send to me, as MissLaurieMarie has the cost of sending the box back to Fortworthgal as well.
