Need to get a room fan as the condo I am leading has no ceiling lighting or fans, and so the circulation is rather poor. Can get kinda clammy at night. Been reading up, and they have the tower fans and they have the personal/tabletop fans. Dyson has a unique look but very pricey. Vornado 660 at Amazon or the ones at Bed Bath and Beyond seem to get high reviews as does a couple of Lasko Tower ones. Anyone got comments on tower vs. tabletop models? Quiteness?

Get a nice General Electric, Signal, or Robbins and Meyers oscillating fan of 1920's vintage. It will out-last any of the modern stuff. Hang it on the wall of you wish, and it will keep you cool.

I find the vintage fans are noisy and only have one or at the most 2 speeds. Oscillating fans leave me gasping between sweeps. For the bedroom I prefer the cheapest small non oscillating fan. Usually low speed is enough for comfort unless the weather is sultry. Oil it annually with a drop of synthetic motor oil and it will last for years. And clean the blades. It will last for many years with a little care.
