Does anyone here have experience of this company and in particular these boots?

They seem to specialise in late 19thC. clothes, but the boots (mens' dress boots) seem ideal for the 20's and 30's too.

The price seems very good. Which makes me question their quality (as they aren't asking very much).

Advice appreciated please. Thanks :)

The Alden's are beautiful - especially the Ravello shell-cordovan.

Color 8 is really nice as well.

Most people that deal with River Junction praise the service and the products. I have never used them, but friend of mine that are into cowboy action shooting love their products.
Hope this helps.

Stacy Adams....mmmm??? decisions...

Might be veering towards the Stacy Adam Madison boot. As long as it's all leather (inside and out) and don't wear out too fast, then...for a hundred bucks you cannot go too far wrong!! And will go with my suits and tux too.

For dress

PADDY,

The Stacy Adams are great for dress and they are comfortable and light weight though they are not a durable shoe. I have walked miles in them and my feet felt great. they also look great with spats. Fpre $100 bucks give them a try!!!

Happy New Year,

Another thing you could do is search for "paddock boots". This style is very common among horseback riders as an alternative to the tall riding boots. I've wear a very similar pair made by Kenneth Cole and they have held up amazingly well (I haven't even had to change the leather sole in the nine or so years I've owned them!).

Kind regards,
Indy

I'm still a big fan of my Aldens

Unfortunately, this exact style of Alden has been discontinued. I found this out a year or so ago when looking for a pair of black Aldens. They do, however, make a similar style boot (the 502, I believe) without the strap and speed lacers. Technically, the 502 is a medical shoe since it's specifically designed to hold orthotics and even foot braces, though you wouldn't know it just by looking at them. I own a pair of the 502's and love them. The support and comfort is outstanding, in my book. Are they pricey? Yup. But they're very well made and designed to be rebuilt down the road if need be.

Just came across these (see pic).

It's the Grenson 'Huntingdon' boot and is in a sale right now too.

Decisions, Decisions...but seem a tad more sturdy than the Madison. (also come in black, which is what I'd go for).

If you can afford them, most of the British boots on Pediwear's site will be much more durable than the Stacy Adams ones.

My all-time favorite is this boot from JM Weston, but it's expensive:

The best moderate-priced alternative I've found is the Sanders Wetherby (available from Pediwear in black smooth calf) Not a perfect match, but the lines of the Sanders boot are slim enough to make them look OK with a suit:
