1000%.I put #10 zippers on everything, damn the torpedoes and "historical accuracy". They look badass and never break.
#10 or #8 Riris are great. Vanson used to put them on CW horsehide that would stop a 12-gauge slug. So are YKK Universals. No I have not, but you could also go with a Riri #10/8 if you don't like the YKK. I would listen to Dena.

Sound great thanks to everyone for the responses !
Looks I’ll go with a # 10
Any thoughts on a two way zipper for the j24 ?

What’s your go-to #10? I love the vintage repros/NOS but dang it I want reliability lol. I am a big fan of the beefy japanese Universal zippers that freenote cloth uses on their heavy duty jackets. But I would also love something two-way.I put #10 zippers on everything, damn the torpedoes and "historical accuracy". They look badass and never break.

On an RC Hercules would a #8 be more appropriate?
I'm a big fan of two-way zips. Unfortunately, only one of my leather jackets has a zip like this. But if I ever need to replace the zips, I'll put a two-way zip in.I am currently in the process with great leathers. Jmax turned me on to it. I use the LW j23 on the bike a lot. It is long enough to just cover my (pants) belt. Being seated on the bike was creating a sharp fold about 2” up the jacket and i didnt like the way that looked. To be truly a functional a motorcycle jacket needs to hit above your belt or have a 2way.
