Retrofit Armor Into an Aero Jacket

Hi. I'm really sorry if this has been covered already (tried searching for it to no avail). I'm getting ready to place an order for an Aero jacket, via Thruxton. I love that their FQHH is incredibly abrasion resistant. But, in my other "riding jackets," there are pockets for ballistic armor. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried, hopefully successfully, to retrofit pockets for armor in an Aero jacket. Or if you've asked Aero to build them in (I know they are incredibly generous with bespoke projects, but I imagine there are limits.). Thanks for any info you can provide!

I feel like I should also say that I've considered wearing something like an armored shirt under the jacket. I'd be fine with that, except I'm worried that the jacket would stretch when worn over the armored shirt such that, when I wore it with street clothes, it would start to look baggy, rather than the slim fit I crave.

I think that when you have to(or should)wear a piece of armor underneath a thick leather jacket tells me all I have to know about getting on a motorcycle!:eusa_doh:

Ha. Well...it's just that good quality FQHH is incredibly abrasion resistant, but not impact resistant, like a piece of ballistic armor. So, if you want both, you'd have to wear both.

A friend took the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) class with me a few years ago, when I first started riding. He noted how funny it is that one of the introductory videos they make you watch basically disclaims how dangerous motorcycle riding is. It's pretty much: "Well...you know...you could die." But it's always been about risk and reward, as most anything is, and that ratio reduces to a subjective, personal decision. I'm sure there's a lot of Freudian stuff going on with riders, too, in the sense of the "death drive." Personally, I started riding because I felt I'd spent my entire life being incredibly, over-calculatingly careful, and I wanted to ease myself out of that habit. I take riding responsibly very seriously and don't do, especially out on public streets, the ridiculous things that many riders get into. Anyway, I've totally hijacked my own thread, I guess. But I just wanted to respond to your comment, which was clever in the best of ways.
