Headed to mountains next Thursday morning. Got a little less Than a week now to prepare. Destination; north end of Gila Nat forest. Almost apache Nat forest. New Mexico. Should be a good time. Report will follow. Naturally I will dress the part.

Too long since I've been to the Gila...

Sounds like a nice trip. How long are you going to be up there? It's been too long since I've been though that area. I need to take my girls to the southern end of the Gila so they can see the cliff dwellings.

Headed up to Armijo Springs by Quemado. Used to hunt way back in the day in the southern part. Down around the Burro mountains! Awesome country! Really miss it! Packing gear today.

Granted I'm closer geographically, but you traveling alone or with another consenting adult would probably seem to take the same amount of time as it would for me traveling with my five daughters (ages 4-15)

We've had a lot of rain up this way and into NM. I know you're not a "boot" when it comes to humpin' the mountains but be sure to pack some rain gear. We've had some pretty good storms lately.

Got back about 3:30 tis morning. Great time! Rained just a little on us. Elk even bulged a little!

I wish!!! No it's just an old aromatic cavendish blen I've been smoking a while now! Weather sure beat the 104F I came back to today!!!
