I prefer a fedora with a higher crown and I'm a sucker for wider ribbons. IMHO a 1 3/4" ribbon is perfect for a 1930's style hat. Any hatter should be able to take care of this without a problem.
Yup, and I have posted that topic on several threads in the past, even tonight. You should have no problem. It really makes a hat look "1940" in my book. You can change the color, so as to have a contrast (ie. black on a dove grey hat body) , or go for a matching...such as silver ribbon on a gray hat.
That is the magic of hats..you can make it suit YOU. As long as you have a good felt body, the liner, sweat, and ribbon trims can all be as you like it!
