Hey, no worries. I saw the piping around the pockets and thought they looked similar.
I didnt know they would fit different, your jacket looks kinda loose to me
but maybe its the poses.

But what is the lining in the stolen jacket?
It looks like sheepwool which is alot warmer then an A2 with cotton lining.

I would recommend the Superior Flight Apparel jacket. I have a different model and it is superb. Mark is really good to deal with.

If you don't choose this route, you could always check out ebay for vintage.

wrong colour and no knits but still worth a look.

Colour is similar.

Yeah the fit was a bit loose, which helped when putting on more layers underneath for the mountain crossings. Yes it was a sheepwool lining, but the jacket had quite a few holes in it which I taped over with silver tape to stop the wind getting through.

Nothing to do with the jacket, but which bike are you using? The modern era Triumph, or the (possibly) British Classic you're sleeping with? ;)

It's a modern Triumph Thunderbird 900 from the year 2000. Not ideal for traversing Africa, but actually did a sterling job through jungles and deserts and the worst roads in the world. It has a lot of scars to prove it. Many immigration and customs officers would salute me as I passed through their borders, so rare to see such a beauty in those parts.

Ted Simon did a world journey on a "Classic" back in '75.

Me I started in 2003, and still on the road.

Mark Fisher would be an excellant choice.

Also this company makes custom leather jackets.

You find jackets like these on Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-MEN...33?pt=US_CSA_MC_Outerwear&hash=item35b52d3f01 It need a lining replacement, but if you search, you may find one just like the one you had. I searched with "mens vintage leather bomber jacket"

Hey, yes that's getting very close. I can see I will have to try more search terms, I didn't find anything like that when I was looking.

The Stratoliner from Superiorjackets looks really really good, and the lining looks awesome IMHO.

All these nice jackets does look thinner and softer then your old jacket though,
and they dont really look like they will protect alot if you fall?

I hear you, I do like a thicker hide on my back.

Oh don't worry about the fall though, I wear a layer of armour underneath my clothes. It's the pride that's hurt when one falls under 200kilos of motorcycle. Trying to pick it up again is pretty embarrassing too. :)

What you had there was a generic bomber type jacket that will be hard to identify as it is not a classically well-known design.

I would go with the "Raider" jacket by Gibson and Barnes - similar to what you had and without those annoying cargo pockets A2's, G1's and Indiana Jones jackets have.

The Gibson and Barnes in goat will be nice to wear, very strong and last forever. It is also easy to order and will arrive swiftly.

I think I finally found which jacket is mine ! :

Unfortunately this one is a little small. I need 24in armpit to armpit across the chest.
