The jacket will keep drying and changing for a few weeks rather like concrete setting and curing. The best way to reduce the risks of damage due to weight is to wash inside a pillow case.

This is my 8th Eastman/Aces High/Aero
fleece jacket which was treated this way.
Most of them, even the last Aces High Irvin was/were offered here for sale.
All worked out fine, even without a pillow bag.
This ELC RW RS B-3 jacket is now 100% dry. No loss of shape nor any other anomaly but one inch in size though...
The outer surface will now be "oiled" up using my own leather preserver recipe/formulation, to have it " butter soft " and stabilised.

All photos, prior the polishing, stabilizing, oiling of the outer surface.
Jacket is 100% dry and all is perfect. Crown zipper "falls" up and down easyly.
The size was reduced by 1-2" in all measurements.
From a 48"R it became a perfect 44"-46" with soon a lot of " polished " patina.
Oil used is a homemade recipe.

The same can be achieved by Kerpeling....leaving the jacket out in the summer sun to weather for several days.

Of course it did...as stated earlier.
I wanted it this way and have the fleece more " curly " to get rid of the " teddy bear " effect and to "age " it. Doubt strongly that this effect would have happened by "sun tanning" only.
Also, the jacket was dried and put on a " model " to shape it the way required.
Finally, the place I live, we dont have "several" days of sun , even in summer.

Just wanted to illustrate the possible issues that can arise from washing sheepskin so others don't make the mistakes I have over the 25 years I have been washing jackets.

I once accidently put a beautiful Irvin on a boil wash....it came out the size of a child's T shirt..It went straight in the bin. Took me a long time to get over it.

Happy New Year...
Will be staying in California for the next 6 months...
May not need this one anymore...
Butter soft skin, no flaw, no damage, no trace of use...very well oiled and balmed weekly..
The oiling/preserving is avoiding scratches or scuffing and softening the skin as well.
The ( 100% Eco/Green/Vegetal ) balm is homemade and waiting for patent registration . Will be on the market soon...I do hope...
Crown zipper and studs...perfect.
Pit to pit outside 26" approx. inside maybe 24" to 25"
Will put it for sale very soon...

Nice looking jacket A much more authentic looking surface finish than the old ones. Wear mine quite a lot in winter just as a cold weather jacket. I don't usually worry about matching it with clothing, track suit bottoms wellingtons etc, anything to keep warm.
Also here I can get away with wearing it till around April as I only ever wear it with a T shirt.
