Magenwärmer usually denotes a digestive bitters, such as the famous German brand Underberg, or the globally notorious Jägermeister. The latter means hunting master, a term coined in the Third Reich in 1935, while Hubert Underberg-Albrecht originated the potation named for him in 1846. Just based on that, I'd prefer either to rat's pizzle.

Why on earth would one waste good money (and tastebuds) on such torment,
when the ultimate bitter can be purchased just around the corner?
