Rare 1952? Oakbrook D-Pocket Jacket on eBay. Heavy Duty Leather. Only one I've seen.

I too have the same conclusion recently. I have a braided Sears which is built similar to the Herc D-pocket made by CSC. It's a size 40, but the shoulders is way big for a size 40. It seems like we have to size down to make it fit well, but then you might run into other problems. I think the early Oakbrook was the last quality jackets Sears had. After that, things started to get "weird" lol.

It was too bad I missed it. It never hurts to add a pristine condition top of the line sears jacket.

If it had been unlabeled, one would think it was a Buco. It was definitely body armor. Wish it had fit me.
In the meantime, I have a near mint 1980-82? Cycle Rider (Schott) D-Pocket that is my favorite. The sleeves have next to no wrinkles from use. It has the Perfecto collar snap, and the true 3-layered leather D-Pocket / snap pocket.
In 1969, Beck MC / Auto parts merged with Arnley. From 1969-79, Beck-Arnley (Schott) jackets, with the funky handlebar label, were still sold in motorcycle shops. In 1979, Beck-Arnley exited the MC parts business to concentrate on car parts. That is when Cycle Rider first appeared, as Schott had a Salesman promoting the jackets to MC shops to fill Beck-Arnley's absence of offerings. My notion is that the Cycle Rider D-Pocket was a tribute to original Becks in order to jump start their need for retail MC shop sales. Neck label even has a rider similar to pre-1960 Beck Northeasters. Anyway, I've attached some photos of it. Sorry, not for sale...
