That's a very nice western without being overbearing. It reminds me of the hats seen in old classic Westerns or an episode of Gunsmoke. @Randall Renshaw does great work! This Stetson Nutria Quality hat is a favorite, but I rarely wore it because the sweatband had dry rot and was on its last legs. I had Randall clean it up a bit and put in one of his excellent sweatbands. He kept the roundel and the store’s stamp. It came out perfect (he also bumped it up a bit in size without losing any crown height or brim width…sorcery!). Randall really has the touch and can do some amazing things with hats.

Nice one. Randall is doing some hat magic, no doubt.

Randall had already done two projects for me and just completed our 3rd. I should receive the latest this week and will be sure to post up here.
No backsies!Thanks, Phil!
If usps will do their thang, you should have ‘er back by Thursday. And I’ll have to say, looks to be one of my favorites and wish you’d just let me keep it!
That did turn out well! I like the way he salvaged the labeling from the sweatband. Other means I have seen sometimes look like an attempt to fake the new sweatband as an original. This way, you've still got the heritage of the hat included, in a tasteful way that doesn't imply fraud.
My latest from RRR Hattery. This old Stetson turned out really nice. I’m beyond pleased with these results. The fit is absolutely true and the brim binding and ribbon treatment are second to none.
Thank you @Randall Renshaw for another success! View attachment 586394 View attachment 586395

That is one fine lookin hat and improved by sittin on your head. You’re lucky I didn’t keep it!
The longer I do this the more I believe there is nothing new under the sun. Somebody, somewhere, sometime has their own version of it.Thanks, WT!
I’d say it was a new, original idea and for me it was, but I also thought the gold stitching around the top of my sweatbands was a new, never been done before idea, then I recently saw another hatter posted here has been doing it. :-(
