As fugazi said, you are not what you own.

You are on the inside, and I’m on the outside. Perfectly fine by me. It always struck me as odd as how often the biggest collectors, with the most to lose, are usually the ones who seem most aggravated with those who just don’t care enough on that level.

Wow, unreal!

Congrats pal, you’ve successfully dug the hole deeper.

What does your response have anything to do with what we’re talking about?

Idk what you’re trying to say. I’m aggravated because you don’t care…?

I care about this community. I care about my friends. You told Marc he was “finding a target”…no, he was just calling you out on your double standards and your hypocrisy, and so was I.

It was 5k, 4500 profit minus the standard ebay dicking

Honestly who cares I just find it strange that he thinks it's some kind of scarlet letter to have ever made a profit on a jacket or bought something just to flip.

No shame in it, I would flip the hell out of a jacket except I almost exclusively buy newer production and there aren't so many crazy sales to be made.

If you knew anything about this community, you’d know that these self indulgent, “poor me” type of threads never go well. And it’s NOT going well for you.

Want to continue digging the hole deeper?

I’m not here to participate in this flame war, but I want to say that starting a new thread is actually the way to do it. There are enough grievances to air out for a back-and-forth discussion and derailing an existing thread (like Finds and Deals) doesn’t do other members any favors. Doing it in an existing thread also makes more work for the mods to delete the comments. After everyone has had his say in a new thread like this, the mods can just lock up this thread sooner or later. Maybe saying it out loud makes one feel better afterwards, idk.

In a forum with a lot of people like here, conflicts eventually arise. IMO bottled up feelings eventually become hate and resentment. If you have thick skins, say what you have to say then move on. I believe we are among friends that share similar hobbies here, and I don’t assume anyone here has bad intents. Some people might come off a bit abrasive but I attribute that to cultural differences.

You don’t like to read either, do you? Read again.

I said “type of thread”. It’s the “poor me” and other types of threads with this tone that don’t go well.

I don’t blame you for not understanding. From what I recall, English isn’t your first language, right?

Nice flame bait. I was tempted to write “don’t threaten me with a good time” as a response to an earlier comment, but I’m going to practice what I preach and move on. It’s almost new year, and I want to wrap up this year with a positive holiday season and start fresh.

Good one bro!

I actually agree with you that a new thread is the way to go. Just not this type of thread.

Happy holidays to you!

Okay, I will have to see that car coat that was sold for $4K.
you saw it, I believe. It still had the price tag attached to it from like 1930 or so. Tbh the jacket went to a known reseller on instagram who I’m sure listed it for 10k or so at one of those vintage conventions.

Funny enough, I saw him repost the jacket quite a while later, and the jacket had been worn and they reattached the tag. Gotta love the instagram vintage crowd.

I genuinely would’ve kept the coat if it had fit me. There’s so much nuance to this whole thing that I couldn’t even care to explain it to these angry fellows.

I would not pay $50 for that and what's why I don't get the big bucks
It’s all good, I thought it was worth more than 50.

to be clear - i don't think any garment on planet earth is worth $5,000. However if offered $5,000 for it, you can have it.

Someone paid $5000 for... this!???

I won't comment on the "design" but it's shockingly badly made, especially for a pre-war leather garment.

I'm going to be sick.

It was sort of like a budget jacket I believe. Sold out of a general store. People pay for the novelty of it being old and unused, to say they have it or whatever.
