Question on White Tie?

I will be attending a white tie event this coming spring, I will be wearing tailcoat and waistcoat etc... However, I thought I would ask if it is frowned upon if your where a pocket watch with the waistcoat. I saw it done in the Downton Abbey TV series but I did not know if it should or should not be done. Thank you

Pocket watch is acceptable with white tie. Personally, I prefer not to wear one. Historically, it was considered bad taste to check the time during a social event; also I think it looks cleaner without a pocket watch.

It will look good to wear a pocket watch with wight tie. Can you share one pic of your suit with wight tie?

Black Tie Guide also mentions that fine chains from the trouser waistband, with the timepiece stored in the trouser pocket were very popular in the Edwardian era and the Teens.
